Life is what you make of it

Stress does some interesting things to you. Your heart starts to race, you can lose your appetite, and even start sleeping less. Why is it that we’re so willing to get so worked up about things that 10 years from now will mean nothing? They’ll just be a blip on the radar in our lives.

I’m really starting to realize that life is truly what you make of it. If you’re always worked up and take things too seriously, it’s amazing how much of yourself can get damaged in the process. When we look back on life, it should be about the lessons and the experiences we’ve had. It shouldn’t just be about how much we’ve struggled.

I’ve been working like a maniac and it’s starting to become easy for me to see what it’s like to be burned out. It’s amazing how much the human body can put up with. Feeling overwhelmed, losing your appetite, all while working yourself into overdrive.

Despite everything that it can cope with, eventually even your body can hit a breaking point. Which makes you wonder….. Is stress worth the pain? Is it worth crying or losing sleep over?

I think it isn’t worth it. For the most part. Working hard is necessary, but so are the rewards. I’m starting to see that not treating yourself or taking a break can lead to a breakdown.

We’re always concerned about getting the job done… But how can you expect that to happen if you don’t take care of yourself in the process?
