Comparison Is The Thief of Joy

Comparison Is The Thief of Joy

Comparison is truly the thief of joy. When is the last time you sat with something you accomplished and gave yourself a pat on the back?

Rather than taking in the present moment and appreciating it for what it is, we often get distracted because we look far ahead to things or at our past, and it feels more comfortable to escape the space that we are currently in.

And to add to our escapism, we often compare what someone else has with what we want and don’t have, which is a total energy suck.

It makes it hard to live in the moment, the moment that we can’t replicate. The moment that we can’t redo, this isn’t a video game.

✨ Here’s the thing: What’s meant for you is for you and no one can take it away. If you’re meant to accomplish or access something, it will happen.

✨ Comparing ourselves to others, makes me think about something that my high school track coach use to say before races, “Focus on your race. Don’t get distracted and watch someone else’s race. They’ll run past you and just keep going. Stay focused on your lane.”

✨ Focus on your race, instead of comparing or attempting to escape it.

When is the last time you soaked up your life and enjoyed it fully for the small day to day joys that you have?
